The BPA show and sale will be held at Ross-on -Wye auction mart on Saturday October 2nd (one week later than previously planned) in Association with the Rare Breeds Survival Trust. The sale commences at 11 00 am. As always there will be classes for all pedigree breeds of pig and of course including all the traditional breeds monitored by the RBST. The sale has been growing in recent years with sale averages increasing year on year. At the 2009 event the sale viewing area was very nearly full to capacity. Recent sales have seen good quality breeding stock of all breeds in great demand with Berkshires, Large Blacks, British Saddlebacks, Middle Whites, Gloucestershire Old Spots, Welsh and Oxford Sandy and Blacks all keenly sought after. At the 2009 sale there was renewed interest in Modern breeds such as Large White and Landrace which nearly all found new homes at the sale. The auction will be conducted by Norton and Brooksbank in association with Williams and Watkins and schedules/catalogues may be obtained from the British Pig Association on 01223 845100 e mail bpa@britishpigs.org website ww.britishpigs.org in due course.
